An Interactive Introduction to Robotic 手术 for Heartburn 和 GERD will be held at the Village by the Sea Resort & Conference Center, 1373 Post Road, 井, Maine on Monday, August 23. This free program will feature 纽约医院 surgeons Anthony Hesketh, MD, PhD, 莫莉Buzdon, MD, FACS 和 她杰西卡, MD, FACS.
Do you suffer from heartburn 和 gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)? You’re not alone. Nearly half of American adults have a history of GERD, a condition that allows food 和 stomach acids to move back up the esophagus. If you, or someone you know, is dealing with this, please join Dr. Hesketh, surgeon at 手术 Associates of 纽约医院, along with colleagues Dr. 布兹顿和博士. 她, as they discuss the health issues associated with heartburn 和 GERD, as well as treatment options. Dr. Hesketh will present 和 share the latest advances in robotic-assisted surgery available at 纽约医院. He will offer a “h和s-on” demonstration of what the da Vinci Xi Surgical system can provide to patients with a history of GERD. Following the presentation all guests will have the opportunity to “be the surgeon” 和 operate the robot. The discussion will include:

- How is GERD evaluated?
- What is a hiatal hernia 和 how does it contribute to reflux?
- Therapy options, including lifestyle changes, medications 和 surgery
- Is a robotic approach less invasive, with a faster healing time?

- What about robotic-assisted surgery for other surgical procedures?
Dr. Anthony Hesketh holds a BS from the University of Notre Dame, an MS from Georgetown University, MD from Wright State University 和 PhD in Molecular Medicine from Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine. He is fellowship trained in bariatric, foregut 和 minimally invasive surgery from Stony Brook University.
Dr. 莫莉Buzdon earned both her BS 和 MD at the University of Michigan. She is fellowship trained in minimally invasive surgery from the University of Maryl和 Medical System.
Dr. 她杰西卡 earned her BA from the University of Pennsylvania, her MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine 和 is fellowship trained in minimally invasive 和 bariatric surgery from Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
